Task 3 Computer Game Planning

2D Game Planning

Initial Concept Art

These images are the beginning concepts for my 2D assets. We need to find some images on the internet and merge some of them together to create my images. The first image is the typelogo concept, the second image is the player concept and he final image is the boss concept.

Draft Asset Design

Before I made the final 2D game assets I made a few plans by drawing them by hand. I did the power-up, one of the enemies, the player animations and I drew other random assets. By doing these drawings it helps when it comes to making the digital versions as I had something to work from.

Final Asset Design

This is my player animation sprites. I have the player moving forward, left and right.

This is my sprites for the blood effect when a enemy/the player dies. I have my player spew the red blood sprite and the enemies spew the yellow blood out signify which one died.

These images show my boss components. The first image is my the actual boss, then you can see my animation strip where the boss looks like he is grabbing an arrow after he has just thrown one and the final image is what the boss throws at the player, his arrow.

This image is the engine flame that the player will spew out when he move forward. It is meant to look like a flame.

This is my animation strip for my coin that the player picks up and it add it to the overall score. As time goes on the coin spins and on one side the coin is green and on the other side the coin is a yellow/light green colour.

These are my enemies that you have to beat before reaching the boss. I look like smaller versions of the boss and they shoot miniature arrow.

Now the images above are my power-ups. The red one is my health power-up which will give the player full health again and the yellow power-up is a multi-shot where every time you pick one up the player gets an additional 2 bullets every time they fire.

Next you can see another enemy animation strip. This enemy is a maggot that looks like it is wiggling around as it moves. The image below the enemy is where it spawns, the pod.

This image is my title screen the first thing you will see when you play my game

When the level scrolls along you will see, occasionally, one of these platforms that I can place things on.

This is a turret that will be place onto some of my enemies so they can shoot at my player.

Finally this image is the player bullets that you fore to eliminate the enemies. The animation is to make it look like it is spinning through the air as it travelling to the destination.

3D Game Planning

Top Down Level Plan,

This is my beginning idea for the layout of my 3D Arena Level. I wanted to create a maze like design that give the player many ways to play the game and multiple routes to find one another. I also like the idea of the players being able to go inside the level as well as having the abillity to go outside as well. In the middle of my level I have a centre room that leads of in four directions

Doorway Side View Plan,

As well as me making a top down level plan, I made a side view of a doorway I plan to build. I will create this doorway on every place I transfer from one room to another. The floor is textured with a wooden plank texture which I will also do in Unity when it comes to making it digitally. I also want to add the wooden plank texture to the doorway and to make the walls textured with a stone wall look.
